Online Fishing Forum: Pike Fishing 101

(Statewide) - Anglers are reminded that northern pike are nonnative to Southcentral waters and you can help by harvesting them. Have you been wondering how to best target northern pike in Southcentral Alaska? If so, you won’t want to miss this! The Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G), Division of Sport Fish, will be hosting an online fishing forum titled, “Pike Fishing in Southcentral Alaska” on the Alaska Department of Fish and Game YouTube channel. The presentation will cover information about northern pike biology and ecology, popular fishing set ups and techniques, and good spots to target them. This fishing forum will be available on YouTube on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. ADF&G staff will be available to answer any questions in real-time on the YouTube chat from 6:00 p.m. until the close of the presentation. The presentation will then remain on the ADF&G YouTube channel and can be viewed any time after the premiere.
