Abstract: Estimates of Pacific salmon Oncorhynchus spp. escapement for the Nushagak River in Bristol Bay, Alaska, were determined by hydroacoustic techniques from June 08 through August 17, 2002. Estimates of species, age, sex, and size composition were derived from samples obtained with drift gillnets and beach seines. Final escapement estimates by species through August 17 were 3 15,68 1 sockeye salmon O. nerka, 87,141 chinook salmon O. tshawytcha, 419,964 chum salmon O. keta, 3 17,66 1 pink salmon O. gorbuscha and 42,343 coho salmon O. kisutch.
