Emergency Orders and Regulation Reminders

• Emergency Orders are in effect for the following areas:
  • In Stormy Lake: The retention of Arctic char and Dolly Varden is prohibited all year long, as part of an effort to restore this native fish.
  • In Soldotna Creek Drainage Lakes: The retention of species other than northern pike is prohibited all year long in East Mackey, West Mackey, Union, and Derks Lake as part of an effort to restore native fish.
• The 2017 Southcentral Alaska Sport Fishing Regulations Summary is available at Fish and Game offices, online, and at many sport fishing license vendors.

Salmon - Kenai & Kasilof Rivers

• Fishing for coho salmon on the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers is excellent. Anglers are achieving bag limits throughout both rivers. Water conditions will determine success over the next few weeks as the Kenai has reached bankful and is occasionally exceeding minor flood levels after heavy rains lowering visibility. Fishing should be good for the next few weeks into October.

Resident Fish - Kenai & Kasilof Rivers

• Fishing for rainbow trout and Dolly Varden is excellent with sockeye salmon in peak spawn. Fishing should be good for the next few weeks into October.

Lake Fishing

• Lake fishing for rainbow trout has been good.

Northern Pike

• All public accessible lakes on the Peninsula have had invasive pike removed.
