Salmon - Kenai & Kasilof Rivers
- Fishing for coho salmon on the Kenai and Kasilof rivers is excellent. Anglers are achieving bag limits throughout both rivers. All indications are that coho are late this year.
- Fishing for sockeye salmon on the lower Kenai is winding down. Fishing continues to be productive with fishing being the most successful just below Skilak Lake to Bings Landing; however, most fish have turned and are approaching spawning phase. A few bright fish can still be found.
- Fishing for sockeye salmon in the Upper Kenai and Russian Rivers is good with higher passages of fish in recent weeks. Most fish have turned and are approaching spawning phase. A few bright fish can still be found. Reminder: fishing for sockeye salmon in the Russian River and confluence area CLOSED Sunday, August 20, 2017.
Resident Fish - Kenai & Kasilof Rivers
- Fishing for rainbow trout and Dolly Varden is good with king salmon spawning and sockeye salmon beginning to spawn. Fishing should only improve from this point forward.
Lake Fishing
- Lake fishing for rainbow trout has been good.
Northern Pike
- All public accessible lakes on the Peninsula have had invasive pike removed.
