Description: Dog Salmon weir is just upstream from the mouth of the Dog Salmon River which drains into Olga Bay on the south end of Kodiak Island. A tributary of this stream drains Frazer Lake. This system has an introduced sockeye run. The sockeye run was introduced in 1953 followed with the installation of a fish ladder at just downstream from the lake outlet in 1962 to allow the fish to utilize Frazer Lake. The current escapement goal for Sockeye is 75,000 to 170,000.
