Description: Beginning in 2018, monitoring of Chinook salmon escapement was initiated at approximately 2.5 miles upstream of the mouth beginning mid-May through early August. At the beginning of the season, high spring flows prevented installation a weir and an ARLIS sonar was used until flows subside. Once flows subsided, escapement is monitored using a resistance board weir. An underwater video system is installed within the weir and motion-detected fish passage is recorded 24 hours per day seven days each week. Historic Chinook counts have been deleted because escapement was not completely monitored.
