Hatchery Tour Video Available Online

(Statewide) - Have you been wanting to attend a tour of the nation’s largest and most sustainable sport fish hatchery, the William Jack Hernandez Sport Fish Hatchery (WJHSFH), located in Anchorage, Alaska? If you answered yes to this question, keep reading! The Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G), Division of Sport Fish will be releasing a 25-minute behind-the-scenes tour video of the WJHSFH. The video highlights the six major fish rearing areas within the hatchery, and covers the advanced fish life support systems in the facility that allow for the production of over 4 million fish per year to support sport fish enhancement throughout the state.

There are a few different locations where you can find this video! The video will be released in a YouTube premiere on the Alaska Department of Fish and Game YouTube channel on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, from 7:00-7:25 p.m. During the premiere, hatchery staff will be available in the YouTube chat to answer any questions. Following the premiere, the video will remain available on the Alaska Department of Fish and Game YouTube channel for the foreseeable future. The video will also be available on the hatchery webpage on the Alaska Department of Fish and Game webpage following the premiere.
