ENTRIES SOUGHT FOR 2014 SPORT FISHING REGULATIONS SUMMARY PHOTO CONTEST

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game is accepting photo entries for the 2014 Sport Fishing Regulations Summary photo contest. The deadline for submissions is 5 p.m., October 1, 2013.

Three images will be selected as covers for regulations summary booklets for the following regions: Southcentral, Arctic-Yukon-Kuskokwim/Upper Copper-Upper Susitna, and Bristol Bay/Kodiak Island/Alaska Peninsula/Aleutian Islands. In addition, some photos may be selected for inside pages of the regulations summaries.

Cover photo submissions should feature one or more youths engaged in sport fishing, or sport fishing activities, in Alaska. The primary person in the photo must be younger than age 18 at the time the photo was taken. Images that include advertisements, show evidence of fish and game violations, or unethical or unsafe actions will be disqualified.

Photos for inside pages of the regulations summaries have no age requirement, but will be held to the same standards as those described above. Photos of people engaged in personal use activities, such as dipnetting are also eligible for consideration for inside pages of the summary booklet.

Send photos to dfg.dsf.AquaticEd@alaska.gov. The subject line of the e-mail must include the name of the water body or drainage in which the photo was taken. Digital photos must be less than 10MB, but clear and crisp when scaled to 8.5 x 11 inches.

A maximum of three photos may be entered per photographer. Please include:
• Name and age of the main subject(s)
• Photographer’s name and contact information
• Name and contact information of the main subject(s)’ parent or guardian (if applicable)
• A brief description of the fishing adventure (what, when, where)
