The Division of Sport Fish is now accepting public comment on its statewide fish stocking plan.

The Division plans to release more than 7 million fish into the waters of Alaska every year for the next five years, in order to benefit recreational anglers. The stocking plan outlines how many of each kind of fish could be stocked in each location  

Only fish from the two state fish hatcheries are included in this plan. Private non-profit hatcheries also have permits to stock fish, but those fish are not covered in this plan.

The plan is posted on the agency's website at www.sf.adfg.state.ak.us, under “Draft 2007 Stocking Plan.”
