(Homer) – The Alaska Department of Fish and Game would like to remind youth-anglers that due to the sport fishing regulation closures on the Anchor and Ninilchik rivers and Deep Creek drainages effective Saturday, June 2, 2018, the Youth-Only Ninilchik River King Salmon Fishery which was scheduled for Wednesday, June 6, 2018, is also closed.
During the 2018 season, youth anglers have additional opportunities to participate in Southcentral Youth-Only Fisheries. Anglers 15 years and younger can participate in any of the following 2018 Southcentral Youth-Only Fisheries:
- Ship Creek in Anchorage on June 16 (6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
- Eklutna Tailrace in Palmer on June 16 and August 18 (6 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
- Fish Creek in Wasilla on August 4 and 5 (5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily)
- Seward Lagoon and Lagoon outfall stream on June 15-17, July 6-8, August 24-26, and September 7-9
- Nick Dudiak Fishing Lagoon in Homer on August 4
