Comments: Nomination by Heather Bauscher, Eric Castro, and local elder Schooling Pink salmon at mouth during low tide waiting for flood. Additional pink salmon observed on reconnaissance 50-100m above mean high tide. Sampling team walked <100m upstream above mean high tide and observed numerous pink salmon carcasses in the riffles and along the shore. Lots of gull activity in the estuary with the lower tide and strong odor of decomposing fish. Live salmon observed swimming upstream and past our legs, moving from salt water into the stream.
