Comments: We used a R44 helicopter for aerial survey of the Coleen River on September 19, 2017. The survey began at the mouth of the Coleen River. We visually observed migrating fall chum salmon starting at the mouth and up through the upper reach Lat/Long listed above. We visually observed spawning fall chum salmon starting at the lower reach Lat/Long listed above. We observed spawning fall chum salmon from the lower reach up through the upper reach listed above. We did not observe any spawning or migrating fall chum salmon above the upper reach Lat/Long listed above. The aerial survey ended at Strangle Woman Creek. We collected tissue samples from 101 spawning fall chum salmon and provided the samples to ADF&G gene conservation lab. Coordinates listed are WGS 84.
