Comments: We used a R44 helicopter for aerial survey of Coleen River on July 22 and August 5, 2017. We also floated the Coleen River July 23 - 26, 2017. We visually observed more than 100 adult spawning Chinook (King) salmon. We collected ASL and genetic samples from 42 spawning Chinook salmon. All samples were sent to ADF&G scale aging lab and gene conservation lab. Furthest upriver (upper reach) extent of Chinook spawning that we observed occurred at 67.845630, -142.267040 WGS 84. We did not do a complete aerial survey of the lower river, therefore I left the lower reach Lat/Long blank. We started our aerial survey at 67.68607, -142.52898, and we did observe spawning Chinook salmon at this location. They were spawning from here all the way up through the upper reach Lat/Long listed above.
