Archived Sport Fishing Report

Effective 12:01 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2019 sport fishing for king salmon in all flowing waters of the Tanana River drainage is closed. King salmon incidentally caught while fishing for other species may not be removed from the water and must be released immediately. 

The bag and possession limit for northern pike in all lakes and flowing waters of Minto Flats (including the Chatanika and Tolovana drainages and Minto Lakes) is two fish, only one of which may be 30 inches or greater in length.

Try fishing some of the over 90 stocked lakes in the Tanana drainage for some fun times with the family.

The mainstem Tanana River is high due to the glacial melt in the upper reaches.

Remember that Arctic grayling fishing is catch and release only in the Chena River and all of its tributaries, including Badger Slough. Only 1 unbaited, single-hook artificial lure may be used.

Arctic grayling are being caught in the Delta Clearwater River. The bag and possession limit for Arctic grayling in the Delta Clearwater River is 1, which must be 12 inches or less. Only unbaited, artificial lures or flies may be used.
