Scoping Meeting for the Removal of Invasive Northern Pike from Tote Road Lakes and Planning for the Reintroduction of Native Species

(Soldotna) - The Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) invites you to attend a public meeting about a proposed project to remove invasive northern pike from a cluster of lakes in the Tote Road area south of Soldotna. The ADF&G project biologist, the area sport fishery manager, and the regional invasive species specialist will be in attendance. Informative presentations and information exploring the possibilities and past practices of removing northern pike will be provided and ADF&G staff will be present to answer questions.

Where: The Kenai National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center located near mile 1.0 Ski Hill Road, Soldotna, Alaska.

When: Monday, December 11, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

What: Learn details on ADF&G’s proposal to remove invasive northern pike from lakes in the Tote Road area including plans to stock wild native fish following the removal. This meeting will also provide you an opportunity to provide feedback and ask questions. Your thoughts and ideas are important and will be considered as project planning is refined. If you wish to attend this meeting but are unable to, a second meeting will be held at a later date.
