Requested Tracking Map
During the last 15 days we have received locations for 4 bearded and 3 spotted seals. One bearded seal (BS16-05-F, red square) is still along the Beaufort Sea coast, west of Kaktovik. One spotted seal (SS16-01-F, orange circle) and one bearded seal (BS16-06-M, pale green square) remain in the Bering Sea. The remaining four seals have moved from the Bering Sea, north through Bering Strait, into the Chukchi Sea. Sea ice data are courtesy of the NASA Rapid Response Network, dated 15 June (https://earthdata.nasa.gov/earth-observation-data/near-real-time/rapid-response/modis-subsets).
