Stocking Notes: Stocking access is the same as public access or use access at Knik Bar.
Knik Lake was first stocked by ADFG in 1953, with steelhead/rainbow trout (RT) fry/fingerlings. RT were stocked again in 1954, 1956-1962, and 1965. Coho salmon (SS) were stocked in 1967-1968, RT through 1971-1981 and 1983-1986. RT and Arctic grayling (GR) were stocked 1987-1988, then RT catchables, GR and coho salmon (SS) fingerling 1989-1993. Since 1997, catchable RT are stocked and catchable king salmon since 2002. Knik Lake is landlocked.
