Kashwitna Lake was first stocked by ADFG in 1987 with rainbow trout (RT). Kashwitna Lake has a small outlet stream that under flood conditions might allow RT into Little Willow Creek so triploid all-female RT are stocked. May be very limited spawning area in the outlet area, but not enough to maintain a fishery without supplemental stocking.
Stockings changed to catchables in 2005 because fingerlings had poor survival.
