Survey UPDATE-BIR01

Project Supervisor: Gillian O'Doherty, ADFG
Observers: Mark Eisenman

Overall Fish Passage Rating: Black

Tidal: No
Backwatered: No

Step Pools: No
Construction Year:

Site Observations:

  1. Inlet perch

Comments: Site visited to get baseline data and take photographs. This culvert was not assessed during the 2009-11 MSB Fish Passage Project. Outlet is at grade but does riffle downstream about 20 feet. Lots of well establish moss on the rocks and logs around and in the creek shows this creek has a fairly low and consistent flow. This is a pond upstream and there is a channel that has been cut to allow some stream flow into the pond. No outlet to the pond was observed.

Comments: Culvert length estimated using GIS. Most of culvert looks to be aluminum, but there appears to have been a section of steel pipe added at inlet to extend length. Debris at inlet causing an inlet perch. Culvert looks undersized for creek. There is a little sediment at both the inlet and outlet.
