Survey KEN17-FA01

Observers: Maggie Schaffer, Elise Idle

Overall Fish Passage Rating: Gray

Tidal: No
Backwatered: Yes

Step Pools: No
Construction Year:

Site Observations:

  1. Outfall height gray

Comments: Culvert information and assessment data collected and submitted by USFWS. Site was fully backwatered. Marshes on both upstream and downstream side. Upstream was 30 feet wide and approximately 100 feet long. Pooled area began approximately 10 feet downstream. A pipeline was running through the culvert. The site was 3/4 of a mile from a reservoir for float planes at the Kenai Airport. The downstream area was at a bottom of a gulch with lots of trash that had been thrown down into it. There was no clearly defined upstream, it was a shallow marsh completely filled with horsetail. There is a dry overflow culvert with an apron on the downstream side, but no inlet was found. No long profile done.
