Survey KEN17-31_2007

Observers: Jeff Sires, Louis Mitchell, Luke Violette

Overall Fish Passage Rating: Green

Tidal: No
Backwatered: Yes

Step Pools: No
Construction Year:

Site Observations:

  1. Damage associated with ice problems
  2. Sediment accumulation
  3. Damage associated with ice problems

Comments: KWFRES_17_04. Culvert assessment and photographs submitted by Kenai Watershed Forum. Ponded upstream from inlet. Creek joins another creek directly downstream of outlet. Downstream creek is cataloged (AWC#31-30-10080-2010-3031-4017) for Coho salmon rearing. Lots of fish caught in upstream trap. Only a couple positively identified from photos. Water surfaces at inlet and outlet equal. Downstream tailwater control higher than inlet invert, water appears to be slow moving and backed up quite a ways from inlet. Site is backwatered and rated Green, though culvert does appear to be undersized for the creek.
