Fall Fishing Report 2020

* Just a reminder to all our anglers, please do your part to help slow the spread of Covid-19 by following and reviewing the current State of Alaska Health Mandates in effect. This includes practicing social distancing while sport and personal use fishing and wearing a face covering when fishing and if you are needing fishing supplies from your local store as indicated in Health Alert 010.

Freshwater Fishing

  • Fishing for Arctic char and Dolly Varden should continue to be good to excellent throughout the fall until ice-up. Egg and flesh patterns should be effective with spoons, jigs and spinners being good options as well.
  • Fishing for rainbow trout is traditionally good in all Bristol Bay drainages until ice-up. Egg patterns should work well in the earlier parts of the fall season with flesh patterns become more dominant as the fall season progresses.
  • Fishing for northern pike should continue to be good around weeded bays and sloughs until ice-up.
  • Fishing for coho salmon should begin to decline as the fall progresses with fish becoming scarce later in the fall.

Emergency Orders

Please review the Emergency Orders and Advisory Announcements below in their entirety before heading out on your next fishing trip.
