  • It is still early for king salmon in the Naknek and Alagnak river drainages and fishing is reported as slow. Sport fishing should be productive by next week in the Naknek and late June in the Alagnak.
  • In the Togiak River and nearby drainages it is still early for king salmon. Sport fishing will not likely be productive until late June.
  • In the Naknek, Alagnak, and Kvichak river drainages, fishing for rainbow trout should be good to excellent this week as rainbows continue to feed on out-migrating salmon smolt. Try casting spinners or streamers.
  • Fishing for Arctic char is reported as fair to good in the Wood River Lakes system. Try casting or jigging spoons or stripping large streamers at the outlets of rivers in the system.
  • Fishing for northern pike in lakes throughout Bristol Bay has been good to excellent. Try casting spoons, surface lures, or streamers close to shore in shallow weedy bays.
