SNAGGING PERMITTED AT THE NICK DUDIAK FISHING LAGOON AND ADJACENT WATERS JUNE 26-28

Snagging will be permitted in the Nick Dudiak Fishing Lagoon and waters adjacent to the Lagoon excluding the Homer Boat Harbor from noon on Friday, June 26 through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, June 28.

The areas open to snagging include the Nick Dudiak Fishing Lagoon and the waters from the Homer City Dock (near the entrance to the Homer Boat Harbor) northwest along the east side of the Homer Spit to an Alaska Department of Fish and Game marker located approximately 200 yards northwest of the entrance to the Lagoon, and out 300 feet from the shore.

All other regulations remain in effect. These include the daily bag limit of two king salmon of any size. Anglers are reminded there is an annual limit of five king salmon 20 inches or longer, and after harvesting a king salmon 20 inches or longer, the harvest must immediately be recorded, in ink, on the back of the license or on a harvest record card. A harvested fish counts toward the bag limit of the person originally hooking it.
