Sport Fish Information Center
April 15, 2014
The following corrections should be made to the 2014 Southcentral Alaska sport fishing regulation booklet. The following corrections have already been made to the regulations posted on line.
Page 25—Deshka River drainage (3rd bullet), within that portion open to king salmon fishing, the dates when only unbaited, artificial lures are allowed should be changed to September 1- May 31. Anglers are reminded that Emergency Order No. 2-KS-2-06-14 issued February 27, that restricted bait use during the king salmon season in 2014, supersedes this correction to the regulation summary booklet.
Page 49—Slikok Creek seasonal king salmon fishing closure and tackle restrictions (yellow box) on the Kenai River has an upstream distance boundary reference to ADF&G markers that is incorrect. The distance upstream to ADF&G markers about 100 yards upstream from the mouth of Slikok, should be replaced with, about “300” yards upstream from the mouth of Slikok Creek.
Page 49—Seasonal fishing closure between Upper Killey River and Skilak Lake (red box) is incorrect and should be changed as follows: Waters closed to all fishing downstream of Skilak Lake from May 2 to June 10 were expanded downstream to ADF&G markers located one mile upstream of the Lower Killey River. The red area on the map should be extended to reflect this.
