KING SALMON SPORT FISHING CLOSURE IN TAKU INLET AND MARINE WATERS NEAR JUNEAU

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Sport Fish, announced today revised king salmon regulations for Taku Inlet and the marine waters near Juneau.

Beginning Saturday June 4th at 12:01am through Thursday June 30th, in the waters of District 11 (see attached map) south of a line from Tantallon Point to Point Salisbury and east of a line from Tantallon Point to Point Arden, retention of king salmon is prohibited.

Taku River king salmon production is extremely low at this time. The Taku River king salmon inseason projection for the total terminal run indicates that the lower end of the escapement goal is unlikely to be met making this closure necessary.

For more information please call the Division of Sport Fish Region 1 office at 465- 4270.
