Use Of Two Rods In The Southeast Alaska King Salmon Fishery Ends March 31

Juneau- Alaska residents are reminded that the use of two rods while sport fishing for king salmon is no longer allowed after March 31. The following king salmon regulations remain in effect until the announcement of new regional king salmon regulations are announced in early April:

Alaskan Resident

  • The resident bag and possession limit is two king salmon, 28 inches or greater in length.

Nonresident

  • The nonresident bag and possession limit is one king salmon, 28 inches or greater in length;
  • The nonresident annual limit is three king salmon, 28 inches or greater in length. Nonresident anglers shall immediately record, in ink, all king salmon harvested either on the back of their sport fishing license or on a nontransferable harvest record.

King salmon regulations for the Haines/Skagway, Juneau, Petersburg/Wrangell, and Ketchikan areas, announced on March 29, 2018, remain in effect to protect wild Alaska king salmon stocks.
