(Palmer) - Upper Cook Inlet personal use dip net and set gillnet permit holders are reminded that August 15, 2017, was the deadline to report their 2017 Upper Cook Inlet Personal Use Salmon Fishery harvests to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. The Upper Cook Inlet Personal Use Salmon Fishery included dipnetting at the Kenai and Kasilof rivers and Fish Creek and for set gillnetting at the Kasilof River.

Participants in these personal use fisheries are required by law to report their harvests even if they did not fish, or even if they fished but caught nothing. Compliance with the permit requirements is important to future management of the Upper Cook Inlet Personal Use Fisheries.

All participants are encouraged to report their harvest information online at www.adfg.alaska.gov/sf/PU/, whether they obtained an electronic or paper permit. From a smart phone or tablet device, the harvest reporting website can be easily accessed by scanning the QR code on the permit. The harvest reporting process is quickest for participants who obtained their permits electronically, as their permit information will populate the report automatically. Participants with paper permits will have to enter their license numbers and household information before reporting harvest data. Once a participant submits harvest data online they cannot go back and edit their previous records. However, they can log back into their permit and add additional harvest data. Once harvest data have been submitted, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to the participant. Participants opting to report their harvest information online are NOT required to also return their physical permit copies. Though online harvest reporting is encouraged, participants not wanting to use the online system can also mail or hand deliver their filled out permits to ADF&G.
