Photo Entries Sought for 2018 Sport Fishing Regulations Summary Photo Contest

(Anchorage) - The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Sport Fish, is accepting photo entries for the 2018 Sport Fishing Regulations Summary booklet photo contest. The submission deadline is 5 p.m. Thursday, November 30, 2017.

Three photos will be selected as cover photos for the 2018 Sport Fishing Regulations Summary booklet for the following regions: Northern, Southcentral, and Southwest. Additional photos may be selected to be used for the inside pages of the Sport Fishing Regulations Summary booklets.

Cover photo submissions should feature one or more youths engaged in sport fishing, or sport fishing activities, in Alaska. The primary person in the photo must be younger than 18 years old at the time the photo was taken. Photos that include advertisements, show evidence of fish and game violations, unethical, or unsafe actions will automatically be disqualified.

Photos submitted for the inside pages of the Sport Fishing Regulations Summary booklets have no age requirement; however, the photos will be held to the same standards as those described above. Photos of people engaged in personal use activities, such as dipnetting, are also eligible for consideration for inside pages of the Northern and Southcentral Sport Fishing Regulations Summary booklets.

Please email photos to dfg.dsf.aquaticed@alaska.gov. The subject line of the e-mail must include the name of the water body or drainage in which the photo was taken. A maximum of three photos may be entered per photographer. Photos must be less than 10MB, but clear and crisp when scaled to 8.5 x 11 inches. Please include the following information:

  1. name and age of the main subject(s)
  2. photographer’s name and contact information
  3. name and contact information of the main subject(s)’ parent or guardian (if applicable)
