WATERS OPEN TO SPORT FISHING BELOW LITTLE SUSITNA WEIR INCREASED
Beginning 6:00 a.m., Thursday, June 25, the closed waters markers on the Little Susitna River will be moved from 2,000 to 1,500 below the fish counting weir.
Water levels are favorable for fish passage and the king salmon run on the Little Susitna River is at least 65% complete with a total count of 3,856 fish as of June 21. The additional area closed by emergency order on May 27, 2015 during a period of low water while managers assessed run size is no longer necessary.
