Free Sportfishing Licenses to Support Alaska Military

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) supports our military through a free sportfishing license program available to members of the Alaska National Guard and Military Reservists who are Alaska residents.

We want to take this opportunity to remind you that this program is just one way Alaskans can say thank you for your service.

This program initiated January 1, 2009 and is implemented through a partnership with our military installations.

The license is only available through our Headquarters Licensing Office.  An affidavit signed by your commanding officer will need to be provided.

Your commanding officer will need to sign an affidavit which is available on the ADF&G website.

For non Air National Guard members and Reservists stationed in Alaska, visit you PX on base or any local vendor that sells sport licenses.

For further questions call the licensing help desk line Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 465-2376 or e-mail dfg.das.licensehelp@alaska.gov.
