Reporting Requirements

  • Successful Hunters
    • hunters must return the completed hunt report within 5 days of kill to an ADF&G representative in Petersburg, Douglas, Kake, Sitka, or Wrangell.
    • Specimens Required: lower front teeth and antlers attached to the skull plate
  • Unsuccessful Hunters
    you must return the hunt report to the Petersburg office, or report online at http://www.hunt.alaska.gov by November 3, 2014.
  • Internet Reporting
    If you hunted unsuccessfully or did not hunt, you may report online at http://www.hunt.alaska.gov

Hunting Conditions

This permit is valid for the taking of one (1) legal moose in Unit 3, 1(B) and 1(C) south of Point Hobart, as covered by Registration Hunt #RM038 in accordance with the current Alaska Hunting Regulations and conditions described below:

1. Season dates: Sept. 15 - Oct. 15, 2014.

2. Successful hunters must return the completed hunt report portion of this permit, antlers attached to the skull plate, and the lower front teeth to ADF&G representatives in Petersburg, Douglas, Kake, Sitka, or Wrangell within five (5) days of kill.

3. All hunt reports must be returned to the ADF&G office in Petersburg, or reported online at http://hunt.alaska.gov by close of business on November 3, 2014. If you fail to comply, you will be cited and you will not be eligible to receive any permits next year.

4. Legal moose: One bull with a spike or forked antler, or 50-inch or greater antler spread, or 3 or more brow tines on one antler, or 2 or more brow tines on both antlers. In the RM038 moose hunt a damaged, broken, or altered antler is not considered a spike-fork antler.

6. Special Conditions: Hunting with the use of a motorized land vehicle is prohibited in Unit 1(B), except to retrieve moose, establish camps, or check boats. Additional restrictions apply to motorized vehicle & equipment use in congressionally designated Wilderness. Contact the local USDA Forest Service office for details.
