Requested Tracking Map
During the last 10 days we have received locations for 4 spotted seals. After briefly moving offshore, spotted seal SS18-01-M (orange circle) has returned to the Amguyema River, between Vankarem and Cape Schmidt, Russia. Spotted seal SS18-03-F (teal circle) moved north along the Chukchi Sea coast of Alaska, into the Beaufort Sea, and returned to Dease Inlet, where it was tagged in July. The remaining two spotted seals are in the Bering Sea, generally between the mouth of the Yukon River and Scammon Bay. Sea ice data are courtesy of the U.S. National Ice Center, dated 27 August (http://www.natice.noaa.gov/products/daily_products.html).
