Requested Tracking Map
During the last fourteen days we have received locations for 1 ringed seal (solid red line) and 1 bearded seal (dashed blue line). The ringed seal, RS14-01-M, is near the mouth of Kotzebue Sound. Last week, the bearded seal, BS15-07-M, moved away from the coast and into the middle of Norton Sound, near a patch of remnant sea ice. An updated map showing recent movements is attached. Sea ice data are courtesy of the NASA Rapid Response Network, dated 14 May (http://www.natice.noaa.gov/products/).
