During the last 10 days we have received locations for 1 bearded, 1 ringed, and 1 spotted seal, all three are near the Seward Peninsula. Bearded seal BS17-04-F (green square) and ringed seal RS17-01-M (red arrow) are both in Kotzebue Sound, the bearded seal is near the remnant ice in the center of the Sound and the ringed seal is along the edge of the shore ice. Spotted seal SS17-06-F (light green circle) is west of Nome near remnant ice. Sea ice data are courtesy of the NASA Rapid Response Network, dated 4 May (https://earthdata.nasa.gov/earth-observation-data/near-real-time/rapid-response).
