Coastal Training Program Coordinator
Kachemak Bay Research Reserve
95 Sterling Highway, Suite 2
Homer, AK 99603
(907) 226-4653

I am the Coastal Training Program Coordinator for the Kachemak Bay Research Reserve. The Coastal Training Program is a national initiative designed to provide up-to-date scientific information, access to technologies, and skill-building opportunities to individuals responsible for coastal resource decision-making. In this capacity I identify and develop professional trainings, conduct needs assessments, as well as foster key partnerships relevant to critical coastal resource management issues within the local community.

My professional background is in marine ecology and conservation, where I have extensive experience coordinating across various natural resource agencies and stakeholder groups. Prior to KBRR, I have worked conducting applied marine ecological research (University of California Santa Cruz, NOAA Antarctic Marine Living Resources), island habitat restoration (Island Conservation), and fisheries management (Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Saltwater Inc.) in locations spanning, literally, from the Arctic to the Antarctic. I have earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Marine Biology and a Masters in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology both from the University of California, Santa Cruz. When not in the office, I can be found learning the art of beekeeping and running, skiing, or biking my way across southcentral Alaska.
