Reporting Requirements

  • Successful Hunters
    • Successful hunters must call the Dillingham office (907-842-2334) or Togiak Traditional Council (907-493-5003) to report the sex of the animal taken within 3 days of kill.
    • Specimens Required: None
  • Unsuccessful Hunters
    Must return completed report within 15 days of close of season.

Hunting Conditions

RM 575: ANTLERED BULL

1) SEASON DATES: January 1 - February 29.

2) OPEN AREAS: Subunit 17A

3) Bag Limit Per Regulatory Year: Two (2) moose, however this permit is only valid for one (1) antlered bull. If you have already harvested a moose this year, you may only take one additional moose (either sex) during the winter season in Unit 17A using permit RM575 or RM576.

4) Evidence of sex must remain naturally attached until the meat has been transported from the field or is processed for human consumption.

5) Reporting Requirements:
--Successful hunters must call the Dillingham office (907-842-2334) or Togiak Traditional Council (907-493-5003) to report the sex of the animal taken and mail the completed hunt report card within 3 days of taking a moose. Hunters may also complete the hunt report card online, in person, or by phone to the Dillingham office (907-842-2334).
-Unsuccessful hunters and those who did not hunt must return their completed report cards within 15 days of close of season.

6) Remember
-You may kill only two (2) moose per regulatory year in Unit 17A.
-You must carry this permit with you while you are hunting.

7) PENALTY FOR FAILURE TO REPORT:
If you fail to report, you will not be eligible to receive any permits (Draw, Targeted, Tier II, or Registration including Tier I Nelchina caribou) during the next regulatory year. In addition, your name will be turned over to the Alaska Wildlife Troopers for enforcement action.
