Reporting Requirements

  • Successful Hunters
    • Must report within 10 working days of the kill to the King Salmon ADF&G Office. Mail to: Po Box 37, King Salmon, AK 99613-0037
    • Specimens Required: Hide and Skull for sealing
  • Unsuccessful Hunters
    Must Report within 15 days of the close of the season.

Hunting Conditions

1) SEASON DATES: Unit 9 Residents: May 10-May 31
Units 9A,B, and C Nonresidents: May 10-May 31
Unit 9D and E Nonresidents: May 10-May 25

2) OPEN AREAS: Unit 9

3) BAG LIMIT: one (1) brown bear every four regulatory years, cubs and females with cubs may not be taken.

4) Hides and skulls of brown bears taken in the permit area must be sealed within thirty (30) days of the date of kill.

5) Successful hunters must report online, by mail or in person to the ADF&G office in King Salmon within ten (10) days of the date of kill. Unsuccessful hunters and those who did not hunt must report within fifteen (15) days of season end. Mail to: Po Box 37, King Salmon, AK 99613-0037. King Salmon ADF&G phone: 1-907-246-3340

6) This permit is nontransferable and must be carried in the field while hunting.

7) PENALTY FOR FAILURE TO REPORT:
If you fail to report, you will not be eligible to receive any permits (Drawing, Tier II, and Registration, including Tier I Nelchina caribou) during the next regulatory year. In addition, your name will be turned over to the Alaska Wildlife Troopers for enforcement action.
