Reporting Requirements

    • Must report to ADF&G in Douglas within 10 days of kill.
    • Specimens Required: Skull and hide with evidence of sex attached

    Must return the completed hunt report to ADF&G, or report online at hunt.alaska.gov, within 15 days of close of season.

Hunting Conditions

HUNT AREA (RB073): Unit 1 C, Berners Bay drainages

SEASON DATES: March 15 - May 31.

LEGAL ANIMAL: One brown bear, except cubs or females accompanied by cubs.

PERMIT, LICENSE, LOCKING-TAG, TAG RECORD: While hunting you must have in your possession your signed RB073 permit, current hunting license, metal big game locking-tag for brown bear and associated Big Game Tag Record.

IF YOU KILL A BEAR:
-- You must immediately validate your permit by cutting out the month and date of harvest. Before leaving the kill site, you must affix your metal locking-tag onto a part of the animal required to be salvaged.
-- Salvage: You must salvage the skull and the hide (with evidence of sex and claws naturally attached).
-- Reporting harvest: You must report to ADF&G in Douglas, Ketchikan or Petersburg within 10 days of kill. Completed permit reports must be returned to ADF&G, or submitted online, within 10 days of kill.
-- Sealing: You must present the skinned-out skull and the hide to an ADF&G-approved sealer within 30 days of kill.

IF YOU DO NOT KILL A BEAR, OR DO NOT HUNT: You must submit a completed permit report, or report online at http://hunt.alaska.gov, within 15 days of close of season.

IF YOU FAIL TO REPORT AS REQUIRED: You will not be eligible to receive any permits next regulatory year and may face additional enforcement action.
