Access Information

Fishing on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson requires, in addition to a valid State of Alaska fishing license, a Recreational Access Permit. Permits may be obtained online, or at kiosks located in both JBER visitor's centers.

  • Directions: From Ft. Rich/Arctic Valley gate, continue straight on "D" St. for 2.2 miles. Turn right on Otter Lake Road. Drive 2.3 miles and continue straight onto Route Bravo. Continue 1.3 miles, turn right on unmarked Gwen Lake Road (There will be a sign down the hill from the turn where the road T’s that reads “Gwen Lake”). Veer right at the sign. In less than 0.1 mile the road dead ends at the lake and an undeveloped boat launch.
