Access Information

Fishing on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson requires, in addition to a valid State of Alaska fishing license, a Recreational Access Permit. Permts may be obtained online, or at kiosks located in both JBER visistor's centers.

  • Directions: 1) From Ft. Rich/Arctic Valley gate Drive straight on "D" St. 2.2 miles. Turn right on Otter Lake Road. Continue 2.3 miles onto dirt road and turn left to continue onto Otter Lake Road. Follow dirt road 1.2 mi and turn left to reach lake, chalet, and boat dock. 2) Starting at Boniface gate continue 0.6 mile. Turn right on Vandenberg Ave. and continue for 6.4 miles. Turn right on Fairchild Ave. and follow for 6.3 miles. Arrive at Otter Lake parking area.
