Legal Animal: Any bear except cubs or females accompanied by cubs.
Number of Permits: 40 permits
- Notify ADF&G staff in Petersburg within 5 days of kill (by phone 907-772-5228 or in person). Bear must be sealed within 14 days of kill, and must not be removed from Units 1-4 until sealed.
- Specimens Required: Jan 1 - May 31: Present skull (unfrozen and removed from skin) and hide (with evidence of sex attached) for sealing. June 1 - June 30 and Sept 1 - Dec 31: Present skull and, if retained, the hide (with evidence of sex attached) for sealing.
By mail or in person in Petersburg, or online ( http://www.hunt.alaska.gov ) within 15 days of close of season.
